A generic demo — the same 45-slide product walkthrough delivered to every prospect regardless of their role, industry, or specific problems — is one of the most common and most costly mistakes in enterprise SaaS sales. Enterprise buyers are sophisticated, time-scarce, and entirely uninterested in a product tour. They want to know one thing: does this solve my specific problem, in my specific context, better than the alternative?
A personalised demo answers that question directly. A generic demo makes them figure it out themselves — which they usually don't, because they have other things to do.
A personalised demo is only possible if discovery was done well. The information required to personalise a demo:
Business context: What does the company do, how do they sell, and what is their current go-to-market motion? (Knowing whether they're outbound-led or inbound-led changes every demo flow for a sales intelligence product.) Stakeholder priorities: Who is in the demo and what does each person care about? The VP Sales cares about forecast accuracy and win rate. The RevOps lead cares about CRM data quality and process efficiency. The CRO cares about predictable revenue and board credibility. Each gets a different version of the same product. Current state problems: What specific problems did the prospect articulate in discovery? These become the demo's narrative — not "here's what Brazn does" but "here's exactly how Brazn solves the problem you described." Existing tech stack: What CRM are they on? What sales engagement platform? What call recording tool? Knowing the stack shapes the integration story and eliminates demo time spent on irrelevant capability. Success metrics: What does success look like for this prospect? What numbers would they want to improve? These become the before/after frame for the demo.If any of these are missing, run a pre-demo discovery call rather than proceeding to a generic demo.
Start the demo with a mirror of what the prospect said in discovery — not your product's value proposition, but their problem statement:
"In our last conversation, you mentioned three things: forecast calls that turn into debates about which deals are real, late-stage deal losses that your team didn't see coming, and MEDDPICC that lives in your head rather than your CRM. I've built this demo specifically around those three. Everything we won't cover today — [list two or three features you're deliberately skipping] — I'll leave for later if it's relevant."This opening accomplishes three things: it demonstrates that you listened, it sets the expectation that this demo is tailored rather than generic, and it gives you permission to skip irrelevant content.
Lead with the primary painOpen with the specific feature or capability that addresses the prospect's highest-priority pain — not your product's most impressive capability in the abstract. For a prospect whose primary pain is late-stage deal losses: open with deal risk intelligence. For a prospect whose primary pain is CRM data quality: open with auto-enrichment. For a prospect whose primary pain is forecast accuracy: open with the AI forecast model.
The primary pain is established in discovery. If it's not clearly established, the demo personalisation is guesswork.
Use their data, not generic dataEnterprise demos are most powerful when the product is shown with data that reflects the prospect's world. This can mean:
Using their company name in the account examples
Configuring the demo environment to show their tech stack (Salesforce, not HubSpot, if they're a Salesforce shop)
Using deal values and team sizes that match their reality
Referencing a competitor that is actually relevant to their market
Even partial use of their context — their company name, their team size, their CRM — creates an immediate sense of relevance that generic demo data can't match.
Tailor by stakeholder, not by product moduleMulti-stakeholder demos require tailored sections for each audience:
For the VP Sales:Focus on forecast confidence, deal health visibility, and win rate improvement. Show the pipeline review view, the AI deal score, and the MEDDPICC completeness dashboard. The question being answered: "How does this make my forecast call less painful?"
For the RevOps lead:Focus on CRM data quality, automation, and process compliance. Show the auto-enrichment workflow, required field enforcement, and the data quality scorecard. The question being answered: "How does this reduce the manual work my team does maintaining Salesforce?"
For the CRO:Focus on board-ready forecast, pattern analysis, and coaching visibility. Show the executive forecast view, win/loss analysis, and rep benchmarking. The question being answered: "How does this give me confidence in the number I give the board?"
Build in the prospect's wordsDuring discovery, prospects use specific language to describe their problems. Use that language in the demo — don't translate it into your product's vocabulary.
If the prospect said "our deals go dark after demo" — use that phrase in the demo: "The deal health score specifically addresses the 'goes dark after demo' problem you mentioned — here's how it detects that signal."
Hearing their own language reflected back creates a powerful sense of being understood.
For a 45–60 minute enterprise demo with multiple stakeholders:
Minutes 1–5: Scene-settingConfirm who's on the call, set the agenda based on discovery findings, and establish that you've tailored the session to their specific context.
Minutes 5–20: Primary pain narrativeDeep demo of the capability that addresses the highest-priority pain. Include a before/after: here's how the problem manifests today, here's specifically how this changes it.
Minutes 20–35: Secondary capabilities by stakeholderBrief, tailored sections for each additional stakeholder's priority area. Invite questions after each section before moving on.
Minutes 35–45: Integration and implementationTheir tech stack, the implementation timeline, and what the first 30 days look like. Enterprise buyers need to see that this works in their world, not just in the demo environment.
Minutes 45–55: Business caseBring the demo back to the numbers. Reference the metrics established in discovery. Show how the outcomes others have achieved translate to their specific context.
Minutes 55–60: Next stepsSpecific, defined next steps agreed before the call ends. Never leave an enterprise demo without a clear, named action.
Brazn's pre-call brief provides the personalisation input for every demo — aggregating discovery call summaries, MEDDPICC elements established, stakeholder profiles, and account intelligence into a structured briefing document. Before any demo, the rep has a complete picture of what each stakeholder cares about, what language they used to describe their problems, and which capabilities are most directly relevant to their stated priorities. The personalised demo follows naturally from a preparation process that AI has made frictionless.
